Plus I have a wonderful cousin that has been through a lot of heartbrakes and she never has given up!! It would be such a different world if we did see all the struggles we are each silently going through.

Our bubba just started doing pat-a-cake by himself and after several failed attempts of catching it on video we finally got it (with Daddy's help of course). He's growing up so fast!!

First Hair Cut

Our wonderful little boy was born with quite a bit of hair that everyone said he would lose in a few months. But exciting for us, and yes we do love it, he hasn't lost any of it. It has continued to grow and grow. Unfortunately because of it continuing to grow it came time to give him his first hair cut. It was really hard for me because it is the first hair cut and we would be cutting all his baby hair but also because LaVar wanted to cut it and I remember my poor little sister having a bad hair cut that still haunts her in pictures today. But after talking to a few people that told me that I need to trust in my husband, I let LaVar cut his hair. LaVar did a good job and I am thankful for him putting up with my nonsense. Here is a few before and after pictures of our little adventure. :)

My Ah ha moment

Today I had a very neat ah ha moment as I was rocking and soothing our sweet little boy. I realized how special he is and that only 3 months ago he was in my tummy. I am grateful to my Father in Heaven for allowing me to be a "Mommy" and to be entrusted with one of his special spirit children. I don't know if all "Mommies" feel this way but it is a humbling yet neat experience to be co-creaters with our Father in Heaven in giving an earthly life to his spirit children. He has granted me the chance to grow and develop love that only expands and multiplies. I hope my precious baby boy and my future kids will know that they are truly loved by not only their earthly parents but also by wonderful, caring, and loving Heavenly parents. Heavenly Parents that are always there, who love them unconditionally, and strive for them to know everyday that they are loved. I hope that I can be the "Mommy" that my kids deserve and I will always treasure this "ah ha" moment that I had today.

2 Months

I can't believe our little guy is 2 months old. Time passes quickly!! We have had many ups and a few downs in the past month. A week ago on Wednesday we found out Ethan had RSV, not fun at all. That weekend was very scary because he was coughing constantly, couldn't sleep because he was so sick and congested, and he was throwing up thick mucus. But he is on the mend so that is good.
The good is that he is now smiling more often, he is cooing (which I love!!), and he is recognizing our voices more and responding. We went to the doctor yesterday for his 2 month check up and he is in the 33% tile for his Head Circumference, 22% for his Height, and 18% for his weight. So a little on the low side but still I don't mind him being little :).
More good news is my new little niece Lily Anna was born on 2/15/2010 at 7:45 a.m. and weighed 6 lbs 8 oz. She is very precious and we love her to death!!

Introducing Ethan Dominic

We want to introduce our new precious miracle boy. He was born on Dec 20, 2010 at 8:38 p.m. He is a sweet little boy and is very good for both Daddy and Mommy. We had a little bit of a rough journey getting him here but all is well now. We went into the hospital Sunday night to start medication to get my cervix to dilate more. Then on Monday at 6:00 a.m. the doctor started the Pitocin. I was progressing really well and at 6:00 p.m. that night I had made it to 9 cm. We were all excited and I started to prepare myself to start pushing. But 2 hours later I still was at a 9 and the swelling on little Ethan's head from coming down the birth canal was becoming too sever. The doctor came in and explained that we were going to have to have a C section because the baby wasn't handling it well and I had given it my all. The C section was a little surreal for me and I felt like I was watching someone else go through this experience; in fact when they showed us our little boy I was felt nothing which suprised me. After sewing me up and taking me to the recovery room I got to offically see our little miracle and that is when it hit me that I was finally a Mommy!! We had some other bumps a long the way but all in all it has been a fun experience and we love being parents.

My wonderful Husband

I wanted to blog really quick about my wonderful husband. I have been blessed to have this wonderful man in my life. He is always the first to volunteer to help out anyone, he is a jack of all trades, he helps me realize to enjoy the little moments in our life instead of wishing for the future, and he simply has the most handsome smile.
What inspired this tribute is his willingness to put up with me and these lovely pregnancy symptoms. My back has really been hurting me lately and when I come home I no longer want to cook so usually we have quick put together dinners instead of the usual hot semi complicated meals. He has been so good about not complaining and even suggesting meals that he can make on his own.
He keeps suggesting that I need to stop trying to be super woman and take it easy so that I don’t wear myself completely out because he has noticed it takes me almost double the time to do things, even getting out of the car is hard. I love you LaVar and you truly have blessed my life so much!!!! Thank you for being the wonderful man you are.

Pregnancy Update

I haven't posted for a little while so I decided it was a good time to post especially because in a couple weeks I won't be able to post about the Pregnancy anymore (YEA!!!) So I am now 35 weeks along and getting excited to see our little one soon. For those that don't know we decided to name our little boy Ethan Dominic. No it doesn't have any family names but we both really liked the name. I have to say that at times this pregnancy has gone by really fast and at times it seems to drag. I can't believe I have been pregnant for almost 9 months now yet at times it seems like it has been longer. I have had a relatively uncomplicated pregnancy, which I am very grateful for since my poor sister has had a hard pregnancy and is still several weeks from seeing her little girl. We had a little curve ball thrown at us when we found out I have Gestation Diabetes but it has been easy to manage and not caused a lot of problems.
I have come to the conclusion though that Ethan is going to be like his Daddy's side of the family because he is relatively quiet all day and then wakes up at night to party. Last night it felt like he was trying to escape because he was moving all over and my belly couldn't keep up. :)
We got the shed all finished on the outside so we have started moving things out of the nursery and into the shed. We've got the crib set up, his dresser drawers filled with some clothes we got so far, the swing set up, and the high chair in the kitchen.
LaVar is so cute and is going to be a great dad. Last Sunday we went to my Dad's house for dinner and to visit and our little niece was there. LaVar was cuddling her, showing her the fish tank, helping her to walk across the floor, and even was feeding her some dinner. I am so excited for him to have his own little one to play with and never have to give back.
He has been a real trooper through this whole experience, though I haven't had really drastic mood swings I have had some and he has put up with them. He has helped me realize that everything is going to be okay and this is normal. We had a funny experience the other day, well it is funny now. I had a bad day at work and when I got home I got some irritating text messages so I wasn't in a good mood. Now for those that don't know me well enough I will clue you in, I manage stress by holding it in until I explode. So on with the story, I wanted to make LaVar a good dinner and he asked for Lasagna. I set to work making it and decided to help calm myself down I would turn on some Christmas music and blast it. I got the meat all seasoned (or so I thought) and the noodles boiling. Then I went to go get the Tomato Paste and realized we didn't have any. I texted LaVar to see if he would pick some up for me on his way home. He didn't text back (probably because he was driving, but I didn't think about that at the time) so I decided that it wouldn't take me more then 8 minutes (I had brownies in the oven that had 8 minutes left) to get the Tomato paste from the store I text back that I would go get it. I run to the store and not knowing that I had made brownies (I wanted to surprise him) he text me this long list of additional items to get at the store. But again I bottle my frustrations up so I raced through the store to get all the items. Unfortuantely I was longer then 8 minutes so the brownies were burnt and LaVar beat me home. I was close to tears but I held them back. I start to put the paste into the meat but realized that LaVar really likes his meat seasoned. I asked him to taste it but it seems that it still wasn't seasoned enough. Now I swear I put in at least a 1/4 c of pepper in the meat and it just doesn't seem to be seasoned. I am frustrated and just feel like crap because everytime I seem to want to make a special meal it flops in my face. But LaVar was good about it and said it was okay though I knew he wished it would be different. Anyway to make an even longer story shorter, he told me to slow down and to breath which at the time didn't help because I wanted for everything to be perfect and it wasn't. But I sat on the couch and calmed myself down which meant I was silent. Poor LaVar though he had totally upset me and the next day asked if everything was okay. By that time I was okay and fact I was complete over my whole emotional eposide. But we talked and realized that I need to slow down because I am going to cause myself to be too stressed which isn't good for Ethan and shuts LaVar out. I laugh about it now because it was such simple little things that happened that turned into mountains that I should have handled like Mole hills. I found this cartoon that just explains everything that happened that night.

Our Project

We decided that we needed a shed so LaVar had a place to work on the cars during the winter time and also so he can do his welding. It has been quite a project and we are very grateful for all the help we have gotten on it. It is fun to build something together and to see something we accomplished together. On August 12th we found out that our little peanut is going to be a boy. We are so excited to have a little boy in the family. We have decided to name him Ethan Dominick. He is growing well and all is on schedule, in fact the Ultrasound Tech says he is a little ahead of schedule but that is okay. :) We can't believe our long time dream of being parents is coming true and we can't wait to see our little guy in December. Here are a couple of his first pictures.

Baby Update

On Wednesday we got to hear our little babies heartbeat for the first time. It was the most amazing sound and it brought tears to my eyes. I don't know if it is just something that is wrong in my head or if this is typical, but I have wanted to be a "Mommy" since the age of 3, so it still is very surreal to me to think that this long wanted dream is coming true. As we were traveling to the doctors office and even the night before all the worries were going through my head, is this just my body playing a trick and I'm not pregnant? Are they not going to find a heartbeat and I will miscarriage? What if they don't find a heartbeat and it is just an empty placenta? etc. So yes, LaVar, I was a little anxious and worried (this will be funny in a minute)! :) Anyway, we get to the doctor's office, sign in, they take my vitals, and then send us to the exam room. By this time I am shaking and all I can think about is the doctor isn't going to find a heartbeat and our dreams will be dashed. The doctor came in told us that everything looks good, gets the doppler, and I lay back ready to throw up. She makes us aware that she might have to search around a little and to not panic if she doesn't find it quickly (oh good more anxiety). She searches what seems like an eternity and she says she can hear the baby moving around but still no heartbeat sound. AHHHH!! All of a sudden I hear a little thump thump and then it is gone. The doctor searches a little more and then the blessed sound can be heard and it is amazing. The doctor is silent for a few seconds and says that the heartbeat is about 155-160 beats per minute. Then we hear some static and she says that is the baby moving, it is cool to know that. As we are walking out of the doctors office I make the comment to LaVar, "You know that if the heartbeat is over 140 they say the baby is a girl?" His reply "No you were just stressed and anxious and caused the baby's heartbeat to go faster". He really really wants a boy, I hope I don't disappoint him. Our next appt is on 7/15 and we will update you more then, oh and hopefully on 8/4 we will have an ultrasound picture to show.

Moab Trip Memorial Weekend

Back in January we decided we were going to go to Moab for Memorial Weekend. It was a lot of fun and it was neat to see the Arches. I have wanted to see them my whole life. It was hard though to not go river rafting with LaVar and his brothers and sisters, but come December it will be well worth it. Plus LaVar promised me we will go on a vacation where I can do everything. He is so sweet!!

Sand Dunes

We had the privilege of talking to Elder Jones on Christmas and I thought I would show off some of the pictures of him. I miss him terribly but I know that he is growing in leaps & bounds that normally he wouldn't be receiving. We sure enjoy the pictures and hope you do also.

Our First Holiday

I thought I would add a post about our first holidays together. We had a lot of fun and really enjoyed spending this special time together. We are adjusting on making sure we include both sides of the family in our festivities and though it has been hard at times it was enjoyable. It was nice to see family members especially the little children and getting excited to have children of our own to share these special times with. No this isn't announcing anything because we have decided to wait for a little while so we can get to know each other better and enjoy our first couple years together; though that doesn't mean that my baby hunger hasn't gone away. :)
Christmas was enjoyable, I got up about 7:00 a.m. on Christmas morning and tried to be Santa claus but I wasn't quiet enough. LaVar woke up and we opened one present each and then got ready to go to Dad Jones's house. We got to have breakfast there of pancakes, blueberry muffins, hashbrowns, bacon (Trina was so nice to bring Turkey Bacon for her and I), and a few other things I can't remember. Then we read a story about how Santa Claus and Christ are the same in a lot of ways. We opened presents which we got a Scentsy pot and waxes, a Harry Potter Clue game ( We all know I am a Harry Potter freak), New Moon game, Movies "My Sister's Keeper" and "Fireproof", and a few items for LaVar's big present from me; a real Remote Control Airplane. Then we went for about an hour to Grandpa and Grandma Linton's home, then we went to Mom and Dad Green's home. We had Christmas dinner there of Turkey, yams, potatoes, salad, and a lot of desserts. They gave us Snuggies, "Moment of Truth" game, and some candy. We got to talk to Elder Kent Jones, which to be honest was the best Christmas present. I miss my little brother terribly but I know he is having the most spiritually fulfilling experiences right now that will effect his life forever. Then we finally came home around 9 that night and opened the rest of our presents. LaVar was such a sweetheart and got me a wonderful Willow Tree figurine called "Promise" it is of a couple dancing together. It almost made me cry, it is such a beautiful statue. He also got me a scarf, socks, earrings, and a few other things. I got him a remote control airplane, two motorcycle shirts, and a candybar message. I know I am cheesey but he seemed to really enjoy the letter, he always tells me he loves when I write him a love letter, so I do it often. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and ready to have a wonderful new twenty ten year.

We're Engaged!!! Yea!! He was cute and romantic when he proposed. He took me to the Mount Timpanogos Temple grounds, said we had been through a lot even though it has been a short time and we can get through anything if we are both willing to work at it. I told him okay but he needed to get down on one knee, he did and I accepted.

Bear Lake

Lavar and I went camping up at Bear Lake with my Family for Raspberry Days. There was Brendan and Ashayla, Trina, Jason, and the girls, Aunt Sharon and Chelsea, Heather, Casey, and the boys were there also. We had a tons of fun and all got a lot of sun. I love Raspberry days, it is one summer tradition that I look forward to every year.

This was what we would find in the morning. Ashayla was always happy in the morning, at this time she was playing peek-a-boo with us.

Destinie is a fish, she found water patches on the beach and played in them. It was easier then keeping her from going to far into the lake with out an Adult. She has no fear!!

On Friday Lavar, Trina, Jason, the girls, and I took the boat out. When we were coming back in Destinie and Kylee fell asleep on the boat. I thought it was cute and I was amazed they were able to, they must have been really tired.

The girls warmed up to Lavar quickly. Fact I wish I would have gotten a picture of Lavar teaching Kylee how to swim. She would only go to him in the middle of the pool and she would jump to him. He was so patient and cute with her.

Temple Trip

Lavar and I decided to go do Baptisms for the Dead. Both of us haven't done them for a couple years. It was really fun and spiritual. After we went to his parent's house and hung out there. I am excited to be a part of their lives. His family is really sweet. Here is a picture I took of both our favorite temple, the Timpanogos Temple. I love how the summer flowers make the grounds look so beautiful.

Lagoon for the 4th of July

My work gave me tickets to go to Lagoon for the 4th of July, so we decided to go Friday and sleep over then go to Lagoon on Saturday. We had a lot of fun and I got tons of pictures here are a few of them.
